career as a golf course superintendent!  Club boards usually rule the roost with golf course jobs
and make the management of your course difficult at best.  A true golf course superintendent
has years of experience with not only agronomy, but with public relations.  Be sure to get the
experience you need in an assistants positions before making the jump for a job as a golf
course superintendent.  

Decisions making skills play a key role in the success of a superintendent.  Choosing from
hundreds of products, techniques, equipment, and other variable to managing the course traffic
around the weather.  Record keeping and training of staff is a never ending task, but crucial to
the success of the course.  Education and hands on experience are a must to be successful in
this career.
