Resources in Lawn Care
Professional lawn care is an enormous business.  There is a very high turnover rate for
employment in this horticulture segment.  Lawn care jobs required a dedicated individual who
wants to make a difference.  With having been a lawn applicator myself for both a large
company and a smaller private company, much of what happens is focused on one of two
things:  Quality Service or Speed of Production.  If you have what it takes, you'll opt for the first.  If
you're good at it, it is an enjoyable career.  You will hear from the unhappy customers at the first
sign of problems, so if you cut corners you will know about it fast and often.  Lawn care jobs can
be had all year, every year for the big corporate lawn companies as they have high turn over.
This goes back to the production push.  Private lawn companies can offer great careers in lawn
care where you will service the same loyal customers for years, with you making technical
decisions based on IPM and soil chemistry.  Large lawn companies offer jobs that are based
on production and all actions are based on how fast the process can go.
